Bitstamp announces closure of bank payment for 3days


Europe’s only licensed cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp has announced the closure of bank payment for three days due to upcoming public holidays.

The holidays are slated for Friday, April 27, 2018; Tuesday, May 1, 2018 and Wednesday, May 2, 2018.

In an official statement, Bitstamp said “bank payment clearing system will be closed.”

according to the cryptocurrency firm, deposits and withdrawals will be processed on the next working day, i.e. on Monday, April 30, 2018 and Thursday, May 3, 2018 respectively.

The company has been reported to nearing acquisition by Nexon, a Japanese-based gaming company, who spending in crypto investment has been astonishing lately.

Bitstamp, which was founded in 2011 is owned by Damijan Merlak, and Nejc Kodričand.

Kodričand has been its CEO since August 2011.

It is the world’s oldest-surviving exchange in 2017 after China-based BTCC collapse.
