D’Banj’s Rolex Watch Claim on Davido: How true is it?


Fresh controversy is likely to brew between two Nigerian singers Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo a.k.a Koko Master, and  David Oyeleke, popularly known as Davido (Omo babaolow) following the claim made by D’Banj that he gave a Rolex watch to Davido as a signing-on fee.

The interview which has been generating controversies on the social media featured Spindle Magazine’s August 23, 2017 edition.

Koko Master in a less than eight minutes YouTube Video claims that he signed Davido with a Rolex in 2014, “I remember in 2014 when I went back to Nigeria, some young boy who used to work for me brought an artiste to me and said he wanted me to sign the artiste. I remember we gave the artiste a Rolex as a signing-on fee.”

He said the signing made Davido’s father invited him begging:

D’banj, who looked fulfilled in the video confidently says, “Look at today that the boy I’m talking about is one of the biggest artistes out of this generation, which is Davido. Today, I’m sure he can give Rolexes to many people.”

It’d be recalled that earlier in the year that in DJ Jimmy Jatt’s single “Orekelewa”  where Davido features makes some statements that could be an attack on D’Banj.

Media watchers expected the Koko Master to react right away, but he kept his cool, so the latest claim by D’banj could be seen as a response to Davido’s lyrics more than five months ago.

The DMW boss says in the lyrics  “Who them dey ask what is the KoKo o. I can tell them say Owo ni KoKo o. He still think say na him be the KoKo o, get outta here he forget say we don carry am go.”

He was once accused of calling media mogul and Ovation publisher Dele Momodu ‘my boy’ in Falz’s ‘Bahd Baddo Baddest.’

Whether Davido would react right away, or he’d be waiting for another way to hit back at the Koko Master is what fans of both singers hope to see and hear in the days ahead.

But expect to hear more about Rolex Watch Sign on fee saga between D’banj and Davido.
