#StayPositive: “Being negative doesn’t make things better”-Ajoke Silva

Actor cum producer, co-founder of LUFODO, and Managing Director of Malate Film Village, Joke Silva, is known for one thing to her teeming fans. That’s inspiration.

And she doesn’t leave below that any time the ever-glowing and ever smiling “Lady” appears in a movie, or production.


In this post Mama Ajoke Silva believes that one can remain positive in whatever he does in life irrespective of circumstances.

“You can choose to stay positive through harsh a hard times because being negative does not make things better,” the inspiring Ajoke Silva, graduate of the University of Lagos and Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, London, says.

As one of faculty members of the MTN Project fame 9 Academy, Silva is married to a veteran actor Olu Jacobs with 2 children.

The inspiring Ajoke met Olu Jacobs in 1981 at the National Theatre, Lagos during the Nigeria’s 21st Independence anniversary.

Silva is Director of Studies at the Lufodo Academy of Performing Arts , while Olu Jacobs chairs it.joke-silva-infobase2

Lufodo Academy is one of several assets the couple own as part of the Lufodo Group, including Lufodo Productions, Lufodo Consult, and Lufodo Distribution.

Silva has curated for the Bank of Industry (BOI) in Theatre, Film, Documentary and Poetry and the 2012 London Olympics, and is also the pioneer managing director of Malete Film Village, in association with Kwara State University.

In addition to her work as an actress, Silva is a philanthropist and a strong supporter of women’s emancipation and empowerment, contributing to their education, training and progress.

On September 29, 2014, Silva was honoured as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic, one of Nigeria’s national awards, at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.joke-silva-infobase1

Joke Silva was unveiled in September 2016 by AIICO Pension Managers Limited (APML) brand ambassador.

An inspiring leader is who motivates her followers to do the extraordinary, and Joke is one of those that have been a huge inspiration to the upcoming artistes in Nigeria and Africa.

During the 2016 MTN Project Fame 9 Academy, virtually all the contestants saw the inspiration aspect of Joke Silva as a moving vehicle that kept them going.
