The latest Harvey Weinstein sexual scandal points to the fact that women need to speak out, until they do we won’t know the level sexual harassment, abuses, and rape they’ve had to battle with while growing up, or on their path to stardom in the movie industry.

Harvey Weinstein is a movie mogul who has won several prestigious awards within and outside the Unites States, but the latest alleged sexual assaults and harassment he attempted on those who had worked with him, or who had the plan to work with him on the set has been described as appalling.

1) Rose McGowan

She’s the latest actress to have accused Weinstein of raping her, an allegation he unequivocally denied.

Her experience with the intimidating movie producer began in 1997 when McGowan was just 23. She had just appeared in Scream.

She had previously accused Weinstein of sexual harassment in a hotel room during the Sundance Film Festival. According to a report by New York Times, Weinstein reached undisclosed settlement with Rose McGowan to the tune of 100, 000USD. The money was “not to be construed as an admission” by Weinstein, but to “avoid litigation and buy peace,” a legal paper by the daily says.

2) Kate Beckinsale

This British actress is another star to speak out about her experience with Weinstein. According to her instagram post she claimed that at age 17 she was called to meet the movie heavyweight at the Savoy Hotel. Kate said Weinstein greeted her in his bathrobe when she entered his hotel room. She said the action of sexual move of Weinstein “harmed my career” though said “no to him professionally many times over the years.”

According to her, “I was incredibly naïve and young and it did not cross my mind that this older, unattractive man would expect me to have any sexual interest in him.

“After declining alcohol and announcing that I had school in the morning I left, uneasy but unscathed. A few years later he asked me if he had tried anything with me in that first meeting. I realized he couldn’t remember if he had assaulted me or not.”

3) Emily Nestor

She worked at The Weinstein Film as a temporary front desk assistant, said she had to turn down Weinstein advances several times, “a dozen times” she puts it.

4) Angelina Jolie

Another figure who had terrible experience with Weinstein is Angelina Jolie. According to her it happened in 1998 in a hotel room during the release of a movie, “Playing by Heart.”

“I had a bad experience with Harvey Weinstein in my youth, and as a result, chose to never work with him again and warn others when they did. This behavior towards women in any field, any country in unacceptable,” The BBC quoted Jolie as saying in an email sent to the New York Times.

5) Lauren Sivan

Hollywood female stars aren’t the only ones hit by Weinstein’s sexual harassment. A TV anchor Lauren Sivan alleged that he cornered her in an empty basement area of a New York restaurant a decade ago (2007) and pleasured himself in front of her.

Arguette said she rejected Weinstein’s advances and believed that her acting career suffered as a result. In a New York Times’ report in the early 1990s, she said Weinstein grabbed her hand and pulled it towards his crotch when she stopped by the Beverly Hills Hotel to pick up a script for a role. She was called to stop by, where the movie mogul (who was at the bathrobe at the time of her arrival) asked her for a massage.

7) Amba Battilana Gutierrez

She said to have reported Weinstein’s assault to the New York police in 2015 after the model claimed he groped her.

8) Asia Argento

The crime drama B Monkey brought this Italian actress closer to Weinstein, but she claimed had sex with her without her consent (rape). It was supposed to be a business meeting but she said the movie producer asked for massage from her, which she said she reluctantly agree before she was raped.

“Weinstein terrified me, and he was so big. It wouldn’t stop. It was a nightmare.” She said her career might have been at risk if she had spoken out before now.

9) Louisette Geiss

Next on the list is Geiss, an actress and producer. She claimed that one of the most powerful Hollywood producers (Weinstein) attacked her at the Sundance Film Festival in 2008. It all happened when she was invited into his office in a hotel room for a meeting about a script she had written. But things went awry, half an hour into the meeting. According Geiss, Weinstein later went to the bathroom and emerged wearing only a robe that was open at the front.

She also claimed that he told her to watch him masturbate. As she made move to leave the meeting, she said Weinstein pulled her into the bathroom and told her he could green-light her script if she watched him, “I was on the verge of tears but I pulled it together and quickly exited.”

10) Lea Seydoux

Hollywood actresses aren’t only the victims, a French actress Lea Seydoux in one of her articles revealed her experience with Weinstein when they met at a fashion show.

She accused him of trying to force a kiss on her, “We were talking on the sofa when he suddenly jumped on me and tried to kiss me.

“I had to defend myself. He’s big and fat, so I had to be forceful to resist him. I left his room thoroughly disgusted.”

That happened in a hotel room when Weinstein invited her for a drink, The Guardian reports.

Next is Heather Graham who told Variety Weinstein attempted to assault her in the early 2000s when she met him to discuss being cast in one of his movies.

Graham said, “I walked out the meeting feeling uneasy” when he tried to force himself on her and told her his wife would have been fine with it.

Zoe Brock is a model and actress who accused Weinstein to have appeared naked in his hotel room in the south of France in 1997 when they were scheduled to meet. She said Weinstein asked for a massage, she said in an interview with BBC Radio 4.

“I did not want to do that and he asked if he could give me a massage…I didn’t know what to do and I felt that letting him maybe touch me a little bit might placate him enough to get me out of there somehow.”

This actress thought her meeting with one of the most powerful voices in Hollywood was to be a business breakfast meeting, but she was wrong. Her thought was that there would be a conference room for such business meeting, but she said was sent to Weinstein’s hotel room where he appeared, as usual, in a bathrobe and asked if he could give her a massage.

“I said no, a lot of ways, a lot of times, and he always came back at me with some new ask. It was all this bargaining, this coercive bargaining,” she said.

14) Mira Sorvino

Mira Sorvino has also accused Weinstein of sexual assault, but she was smart about putting him off as she told Weinstein that her new boyfriend would be visiting soon, when Weinstein turned up at her apartment under a guise of having marketing ideas for one the films she’s playing leading role in 1995.

Before visiting, Mira was in a hotel room with the movie producer at the Toronto International Film Festival in 1995 while promoting Might Aphrodit, which later got her an Oscar.

She claimed that he “started massaging my shoulders, which made me very uncomfortable, and then tried to get more physical, sort of chasing me around.”

She was Lucia Stoller at the time the assault occurred in 2004 as an aspiring actress. It happened when she went to Weinstein’s office for a casting meeting, “Even just his presence was intimidating.”

Weinstein has denied all the allegations.
